Novogen Brown
Novogen Brown are a red sex link hybrid layers developed by crossing a Rhode Island Red and a Rhode Island White. From this crossing hens will be a reddish brown color and roosters will be mostly white. Novogen Brown hens can lay as early as 17 weeks old! They have a calm and easy to manage personality and are very good at adapting to different living conditions.
Purpose: Egg Layer
Egg Production: 250-300

Egg Size: Large to X-Large
Temperament: Calm and Docile

Black Sex Link
Black Sex Link are produced by crossing Barred rock and Rhode Island Red. This produces a dual purpose bird that is good for egg laying and meat production. Black Sex Link tend to act like a Barred Rock but have a better egg laying ability. “Sex Link” is referring to the fact that the chicks are color sexable! Male chicks have a white spot on the top of their heads, while female chicks are completely black on the top of their heads.

Barred Rock
Barred Rock were developed in the early 1800’s by crossing Dominiques and Black Javas. Barred Rock are a hardy dual purpose chicken. Barred Rock are known for laying though with winter. Be sure to keep on over 12 hours of artificial light when necessary.

Rhode Island Red
Rhode Island Red were originaly developed as a dual purpose breed to provide both meat and eggs. Since around 1940 they have been predominantly bred for their egg laying quality. Due to their egg laying ability they are often used to create new hybrid breed.
